    Thats fair of trying the truck with the camper first to see where you're at.

    And yes, a couple tunes I tuned years ago that wanted it for towing told me their transmission temperature stayed more consistent towing through BC with a file setup to hold gears long and lock the torque converter sooner.

    If you're okay with manually shifting to maintain transmission fluid temps and it's maintaining fluid temps with your help then i'd say you have nothing to worry about. If you're on the fence though I would still recommend a bigger/ auxiliary cooler. Stock cooler typically leave much to be desired, especially on these smaller trucks.

    Transmission fluid can rise very quickly and that increased heat is what shortens their life. I essentially look at it as adding a bigger safety margin for fluid temp
