I was only able to take my new Spark out 2 times before the weather turned to winter. The 2nd time I took it out I was flying over a bog type area and I wanted to test out the return to home feature, so I pushed that and basically stopped paying attention for a few minutes. When I tried to spot it with my eyes, it was impossible because it flew so high to reach the RTH altitude, and a little nerve racking. But I watched the screen and could tell it was getting closer to me. Eventually I started to hear it, and then I could see it again.
It landed about 10' from where it took off, but f'it, close enough!

Lol i once flew mine not too far, but pretty high where I couldn’t see it and then outta no where lost signal, and my screen went black. I started getting pretty worried until I saw it was turning back and coming back. Crazy little thing

What devices are you all using to fly your Mavic’s? I’m using my iPhone 6 and have been having issues with it disconnecting from the RC.

Everything up to date (iOS, firmware, DJI app, etc.). Already did hard resets earlier and still same issue. I’m thinking I’ll reinstall the app to see if that does anything.

If you don’t have the disconnect issue, what device are you using?

I had that same issue the first few times I flew. And then I haven't had the issue since. Not sure what I did or what changed. But it stopped doing it. I know that's not much help for you now, but I was in the same boat. Maybe it'll clear up for ya soon too

It did it once my first time out and then was issue free. Second time out today it was all fucked. Hopefully it sorts itself out...

I know they say to keep them away from strong magnetic areas as it can interfere with the connection, so I would be careful with that.

We just bought the Mavic at Costco for my son for Christmas. My present is a 2018 TRD Sport that we're going to be driving from Whitehorse, Yukon Canada to Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic ocean in February. Have you flow yours in extreme cold? Any tips/suggestions?

Trying to get as much stick time in as I can. I’m getting tired of doing figure 8s in the backyard though. :goingcrazy:

Yup, but at -40, there's not much moisture in that air.

Just got a Spark a few days ago for Christmas and I’m stoked!! (wife and I celebrated 12/21 since we both work 24th/25th this year)

Been watching lots of YouTube stuff and read up on the last few months of this thread, can’t wait to get flying more! Gonna try and jam around the backyard when I’m off this morning to get more of a feel for it. Ended up ordering the controller, SD card, and prop guards last night..gonna get an extra battery or two and case next week before we head up to Bend early Jan.

Really digging everyone’s input and content! Hope I can get some here soon too
