True. Hard to fit in a backpack when snowmobiling though.

I've seen a few videos showing that the Mavic Air has a bad stuttering problem when used in cold temps. Of course, the instructions say not to use it in cold weather, so it can't really be considered a fault.

Could not agree more - on both counts. As an aside, there is always Kirkland waterfront!!

Saw a video where the firmware update may have help this. Not positive though but it did for him.

It’s really not a firmware thing, li-po batteries simply don’t perform well in extremely cold temps.

Beyond performance, their effective C rating dwindles due to temperature which can be a real issue if you're pushing high amps at the motors.

    Puff puff poof.

Speaking of this cold temp stuff, does anyone know what "warm up mode" does? My P3 has a warm up mode when first starting, does this mean it's drawing higher amperage to get the battery warmer?

Hey @Blackout14 I forgot to tell you, but I finally mastered the hand-grab-landing on my Mavic. Shit still scares me every time though

Any average flyers having issues with Dshot? I'm on Dshot600 with kiss24s and emax rs2205s with no issues so far. But I've heard stories about the esc being more active because of the signal.

I've been running dshot 600 on my rig for a few months. I just upped my rc deadband to 10 and it really smoothed out the center stick. Also running 25 expo and 997 rates. I like a doughy smooth center stick. I used to run kiss but now I'm betaflight. Been loving 5s lately

She's a fat pig but she riiiiiiips! 100mph easy with 4.5 pitch 6" props

What a beast ! Looks good. I haven't touched deadband all that much, I'll have to mix it up next time out ( thank God for lua script).

I need to go small before I go bigger. Looking to do a 3" for a woods setup around here. We have a forest that is the perfect density to make it exciting. But I'll eventually build the infamous 6" cruiser as well. I think as it becomes more popular, more parts geared to long range cruising and efficiency will become better . I know ovaflowfpv is ripping 9min with aggressive long range, which sounds great to me.

    Ps, love my lumenier packs

Right on! And thanks, it's been a great foray into 6" for me. The torque and ability to pull out of anything is pretty rad. I'll probably only go back to 5" to build a remix frame just because I think it's so ideal. Otherwise I'm sticking to 6" and an acrobee whoop. I've got the tune dialed on the 6" frame and on 5s its the most fun you can have without getting arrested! But I have endless open space and the 6" is perfect for here. It's not ideal for everywhere. Trees are daunting in a fat wide rig. 3 or 2" would be so fun in the woods!

Yea bump your deadband a bit and it will get rid of mid stick Jitters. Like I said I run 10 which is alot but it really works well. I do it in betaflight config but I'm sure you can do it on your taranis through the Lua with kiss.

With 1900kv and 6" 4.5 pitch props I get 5 minutes easy on a 1500mah pack. 3 minutes if I'm full throttle 80% of the time and up to 9 if I watch my amp draw.

Fpv is like crack, it's a for real addiction once you get halfway decent on the sticks!

Yup. Best thing I did was get on a simulator for months as I was building. I feel like it cut my learning time in half.

To be fair..."quadcopter" broadly covers everything from whoops to race drones to camera platforms (DJI).

Got my Mavic Air last night and I've been working on getting it set up. There's a few things I'm less than impressed with, such as the controller cord that is impossible to plug into the phone as designed with even a thin case on the phone. Luckily there are easy work arounds, but it could have been better designed in a few areas.

That being said, it seems to be a great drone over all, and I'm really impressed with the build quality and looking forward to flying it.
