Just wait until your mid-30s...

I can still pass a 20/20 test with my FAA AME so no corrective lenses for me (yet at least)

i think i got lucky on this one. my dad doesn't wear glasses, ever. my 95 year old grandfather only wears them to read, and the same with my 99 year old grandmother.

So Yonder Blue got back to me, and, aside from other conversation, he said this: "The FAA situation is a tough one. You get different answers depending on who you ask at the FAA."

That's it. I'd ASSUME that as long as people know what they're doing and fly safely within the little regulations there already are then the FAA won't do much. <-- that's just opinion

I think that's a fair assumption... don't be the guy that hit a crowd of people with an Octo and you'll probably never hear a thing.

I'm surprised you even got a response... lol :D

Yeah, I was surprised, too! lol He was very cool and supportive of testing skills with the 180qx before stepping up.

That video is great! lolol Glad everyone is alright, but I'm sure a hefty FAA fine is coming...... Actually shocked that an Octo lost so much stability. Don't a lot of those have heavy wooden blades, too?

they apparently didn't charge the batteries so the whole thing failed as opposed to a single motor... Some run wooden props, some run CF props and some run composite props.... I am a fan of woodies on multirotors :)

I would really be more comfortable breaking one I just bought vs breaking someone elses. ;) I have that bad luck aura, if you will, around me and gadgets / electronics & gizmos.

lol, well if you feel that your aura has changed, let me know. unless you start doing multiple flips in a row, right from the start, you will struggle to crash it. if you get in trouble, flip the switch to gps mode and throttle up. assuming the "trouble" is not power lines, or the fact that you flew into a tree, it'll just stop in it's tracks and go straight up, regardless of wind.
