Roger that. I love overbuilt machines, and much of the steam era was built out of thick brass and steel like it was never going to break down. I will definitely post up vids of all of these projects. I reallllly need a shop. Right now im in an apt. and trying to do certain things is not easy. I actually ran the leads of my mig welder out one of my windows into the landscaping one day to tac a bolt. Luckily it had rained haha.

Yes indeed. I played it back in the days of VC and it was pretty glitchy, but now it has tons of game modes and cars with rocket launchers, lasers, dual mini-guns, spike strips, exploding barrels...etc.. And there's one mode where one team runs from the other team (police vs racers) which is pretty crazy. sometimes the cops get an attack helicopter.. etc.. It's come a long way

This is the steam power plant design i'm trying to make work. I need to figure out my best efficiency of pulleys between the engine and the generator. So far ive turned the generator with a drill and charged an old LG- scoop phone. I dunno if it will handle the iPhone draw or not. I need to do more testing. Hopefully this damn thing will work!

Is that generator based off of using a stepper motor?

Affirmative. These steppers are interesting. The way I have it wired up there, I can turn it quite slowly and get high voltage. I was able to read 30V by cranking it as fast as I could with my hand. The problem is the amperage. I was able to get it to charge a phone at about 300mA when turning it with a drill, but I dont know at what RPM that was. The ideal speed of that engine is like 450rpm, so I need to figure out if the motor is actually proportional.

Hey, when you loop, are you just cranking over on the sticks? Or is it running a loop program? Also, what are you doing with the throttle when you loop?

that's what will eventually happen, but that video was shot flying line of sight.

For the loops/rolls/agressive flying, i flip a switch on the transmitter to what DJI referrs to as "manual mode". out of the box, this mode is disabled because it's very easy to crash in, but if you download the software off their site, you can plug in the phantom and 1) enable the mode. and 2) adjust all kinds of other settings, such as throttle response and power output at max throttle, etc.

when not in manual mode, it limits the quad to a tilt angle of 45 degrees. manual mode (without adjusted settings), takes that 45 degree limit off, and doesn't limit power to the motors.

so for flips, you ramp up the throttle, and start the manuver. you can keep the throttle up for the entire manuver, but i let off as soon as the craft is vertical to keep from losing too much altitude, then up the throttle before it's horizontal agian.

the mode also allows you to fly very fast, as long as you can maintain control.

I think I have just about everything you need minus the GP3 cable. The video transmitter is very high power (1.5watts) and may be a bit overkill for what you're doing.

I have a smaller 1.0watt video Tx I can sell you that includes the GP3 cable if you're interested... :)

ebay link here for the case: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151140875931?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

am i correct in assuming that the difference of 0.5w will only change the transmittable distance, not the feed lag or quality?

exactly... higher power in theory will give you greater range. My Trasmitters are 1.3ghz (lower freq also travels better through "vegetation"

Let me throw something together for you and i'll PM pics, etc. so you can see what you're getting into... lol

With this receiver instead of the white one pictured above (this one is better quality, I just need a female-female RCA adapter t plug it in to the monitor which it didn't have for this pic).
