I think you probably need to go bigger... usually adding extra batteries will have a detrimental effect on endurance...

is it worth messing with quads or are hexacopters superior overall? for video, it seems that hexacopters do better in the wind and provide a more stable shot, along with more lifting power.
doesn't seem to be a huge price difference

I'm at 1200 with the Gopro H4black included and some other shit... pretty decent deal or...? From what i've seen it seems like a good price for a hexa quad with good quality components... only iffy part is the gimbal as far as i know

Yeah the 2 axis gimbals really don't begin to compare at all. I think I'll try to work him harder on the price and see what I can get it down to. If i'm going to spend the money I'm leaning towards a hexa for lift capability and stability. the solo and p3 look badass but are closer to 1400 and I still need to get a new gopro. my little quad right now works okay for stuff but i'm pretty limited on distance and more so on lift capacity and flight time.
thanks, ill give helipal a look today

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
should change the name of this thread since many seem to have more than 4 blades.

OK, after months of wanting to pull the trigger, I finally did. Nothing really fancy, a new DJI Phantom 1. I know it's a older model but I think it will do for my first. I already have a camera, now I need/want a gimbal. I know the Zenmuse is the shit, but I can't justify spending as much for a gimbal as I spent on the quad. So, are there any servo driven or less expensive ones that are worth having?

I got my Quad put together last night...
After about 10 minutes I broke 7 blades and damaged my parents cabinets

    Here is the aftermath
    [IMG]

The last 'flight' I broke 3 on at once because I somehow inverted throttle so I had it "off" then turned on the Controller and it just RIPPED. lol that is when I scared the cabinets.

How are you guys carrying your drones? I have a tarot 680 and although it folds, its still nearly 30" wide...
I've been thinking pelican case (or similar) as they are the go to option and would protect the copter in the bed of my truck, but they aren't very portable...
I ride motorcycles and have been racking my brain for a reliable way to carry it on my back. My gimbal is removable, the arms fold, my gps mast folds, and the landing gear folds, so i can get it pretty bare minimum.
Maybe the smallest size hard case possible and a backpack that's designed to adapt to a pelican case?

Also, do you guys remove the props? I see it two different ways; removing the props introduces a bigger chance of messing one up by under tightening it or something, but also could be more reliable because you are forced to check the props each time.

    Thoughts?
