    And what is this auto dump feature it seems to have in the pilot app? It's default setting has it turned on. Does it really delete your files completely off your SD card if they are more than 2gb?

    ^^ How much? I got a similar Pelican for $199 at Drones+.

    No clue about the auto dump, but I'm going to look into it now, thanks.

    Yeah, another gps attached is simply extra security for me. I'm worried about losing it in a secluded wooded area in NC. Still debating.

    $220. He gave me a bit of a deal on it. Normally this place has theirs for close to $300. Was nice being able to pick it up right away though and not deal with shipping or anything.

    Snapped off my camera by burying my head in the monitor and having it crash into a tree branch and fall four feet. :( Quickest loss of $600 outside of Vegas.

    ^^ Yeah, a headache. Got the new camera from Adorama, and it was extremely easy install. Figured it was better than waiting two months for DJI. Now, the gimbal is crappy moving side to side. I think everything's updated - at least the log says the copter is. The app is, too, but no clue about the remote controller unless it did it automatically. Just need to fix the terrible aide-to-side motion. Any ideas? Yes, the gimbal is in "follow" mode.

    Ice Horse, I believe the auto dump is for the cache on your tablet, not on the micro-sd card itself.

    Ah ok. I turned it off anyway just in case haha.

    You do need to update your controllers separate from the quad. If I recall though, I did it through the app on my phone. So I think you should be good so long as the app says though.

    And from what I've discovered, be sure to read any release notes DJI sends out. I was panicking during the last update because I updated the quad and I was trying to update the controller too. But it kept saying everything was fine, never had an update pop up for the controller. Bunch of googling because I thought something was screwy and assumed both of them would need the same software update, but the release notes specifically said you didn't need to update the controller. lol

    Never fails so far that it gets windy right as I pull it out. I was fighting pretty decent winds for both of these.

    Killer views on that trail! Looks like that patch of earth was made for a quad!

    Figured out the bad side-to-side. Calibrated the ICM, and then the gimbal. Took care of it!

    I did the exact same thing - frickin' terrified for a while!!!

    SO, I'm now on my THIRD 4k camera for this p3!! smh The first time was a 3' upside-down drop. This last time was after the latest firmware update. I put it in "Follow Me" mode, raised it to 40' (should've raised it two feet higher) and the thing did absolutely nothing as I walked around. Five minutes later as I walk to another side, it suddenly searches for me like a lost puppy, shoots at me and then well beyond me straight into the only tree around. It dropped that 40' through branches, snapping my gimbal guard, and again breaking the camera. I bought a new one from amain.com which seems to have the cheapest prices on DJI stuff. Quick and easy fix, put some thin steel and tape around the gimbal guard, and she's flying as well as ever. The other camera has already been sent back to DJI. The first will be repaired by me and kept. This sh*t is expensive. Gonna be extremely conservative with my flying habits from now on.

    Just test all the new updates in a wiiiiiiide open spot and make sure you keep your height over trees. When I head back to CA I'm hitting the desert and testing everything. For now, basic flying for me. :D Curious to see what you find, too....

    UPDATE: It appears a number of folks have been having major issues with this, too, as they've also crashed into trees and such. Some say it needs to be on a gps-enabled phone/tablet. Some say the firmware is bunk. Be careful!

    Scary! I did attend a workshop today and we kind of went over all those features. He did do the follow me and it seemed to follow him pretty well just at a walking pace. He did say that it's only accurate around 15ft. So if you run towards a tree or something it may shoot past you straight into it lol.

    I got to fly an Inspire today too! Was pretty cool. Has a bit more power to it. I know you can set it up to have one person fly while another person records too. It's more diving into the realm of super professional stuff. You can also move it's legs out of the way. Me personally, I don't see why'd I'd need to jump up to something at this point. The P3 Pro does everything I need at the moment and I use it for business.

    Sorry for the potato quality. Not sure why it uploaded like that. It was neat because we had like 5-6 going at once, some Inspires and some P3s. Half the people were new fliers and I'm pretty surprised nobody crashed or ran into another one haha

    Took my P3 up to 250', highest I've been, and the signal was cutting out. Aren't these supposed to fly 5k' or something?

    Does the Inspire handle better? More solid?

    I have hit 530' in a few seconds with my zmr250. More worried about losing radio signal than video feed. Spektrum is on its way out. Time for some frsky taranis, Long range 433mhz, with 1.2 ghz to boot. (Yes I have my ham)
