another vote for sound deadening. I've done the roof, doors, back wall and floorboard w/ a multi-layer approach.

I'll second the Desert Does It seat jackers....FANTASTIC. And, the Michelin Defender LTX seem like they were made for my truck. Smooth as glass. I got rid of my Wildpeaks before a 5000 mile trip out west because I knew I needed a smoother ride on the interstate to get out there and I'm glad I did. So good.

One new one: Replace Map Lights and Dome Light with LED bulbs from Diode Dyamics. Cheap and easy and so much more light inside.

Heated seats...it's 10 degrees this morning so DEFINITELY worth it. CarPlay/AA head unit, dashcam, locking retract tonneau. Those are my big ones and I couldn't live without any of them, except maybe the dashcam.

    1. Raised the rear of the driver's seat. Leg and back relief.
    2. Window tint with a ceramic tint on the front windshield. Visually, I don't know it is there but it certainly reduces the heat coming through.
    3. Sumo Springs for a better ride with a bit of a load.
    4. Sprint Booster, I have a four and it is a great change in response. (Please don't tell me over and over again just exactly how gullible and stupid I am. I have read it all on here and don't need to read it again.)
    5. New front speakers and sound deadening, everybody who has done it knows why.

    Inside cab:
    1. Light in storage cubby between the seats-A must have in my opinion.
    2. Heated seats. Lots of work but oh so worth it-I did front and back,,,
    3. Lighted 4x4 knob-expensive but I love it
    4. Anytime backup camera mod-use this all the time!

    Exterior:
    1. Headlight upgrade: new wiring harness and upgraded bulbs-an absolute must
    2. New fog lights and the anytime fog mod-easy!
    3. Heated, turn signal, puddle light mirror conversion. Time consuming and expensive but a crown jewel in my climate!
    4. Tailgate damper-3rd gen style mod: expensive and a tad more skill oriented to install but a must!

Biggest waste of money but cool:
    1. 2 Lo
    2. puddle lights

These interior mods I did are major improvements, not in any particular order:
kilmat sound deadening, all weather flooring, aftermarket HU with front/rear cameras, door pillar Ram phone mount, head rest DVD players(especially when my kiddos were younger on long trips), extra USB charging port by shift console, dome/map light LED bulbs.

Never found the need for heated seats cause I can fry an egg with how hot my heater gets....Coming from a guy in texas that was swimming in the pool on christmas.:anonymous:

1-Rear seat jacker, driver's side. Made my own, less than $10
2-Tailgate anti-theft device. Made my own, 2 bucks
3-LED bulbs, front parking, back-ups, and dome. 25 bucks or so
4-New OEM style replacement headlight assemblies. Originals cracked & hazed. $150 pair
5-Extra bed D-rings. Sourced from a Sprinter cargo van. Plug & play. Free

These are just what I would consider as 'quality of life' mods.....YMMV :D

They are materials you can put onto the panels of your vehicle that help block or reduce noise produced by vibrations. Many guys do it. Tacomaholic on youtube did a video on it. Luxury vehicles have a ton of that stuff in them.

Cool thread. I don't disagree with anything in here. I can attest to sound deadening. Did the entire cab and it kicks ass.

Heres how I did mine. I did some 3m deadening I got from napa on the back wall then did a layer of frost king. The floors got 2 layers of frost king and no 3m stuff. It is definitely the poor mans method but I got it all from the store and didnt have to buy online.

I don't think I've seen it on here specifically, but plenty of people have measured the decibel levels before and after and there's always measurable differences.

I havent seen exact numbers but every single vehicle will have different results. I'm extremely far from being an expert but tires, cab size, materials used, caps or tonneau covers, etc effect the way sound is transmitted and created and causes variations between vehicles. One place advertised their undercoating reduced cabin noise by 5db.

thats why it'd have to be the same decibel readings on the same vehicle under the same conditions, same road, same speed, close to the same weather, etc both before and after sound deadening

it would be great if we had that sort of testing done, maybe if we bought @crashnburn80 some beer he'd gift us with some quality testing?

yea, It's just like dyno testing performance mods. Everything should be as close to the test environment as possible.

We just had -10 with wind chills -37.
    Remote start is so nice!
The 12 volt one is a two way and has awesome range. Installed it myself very pleased with it.
