    Nope. Northern California where the Taco was produced untill after 09 where it then moved to Tx or Mex. Mine is a 09 model.
    New United Motor Mfg was the name of the plant.

    If higher wages produce better products what happened to GM, FORD & DODGE made in Detroit or the US. Im no expert but work ethic influences final qaulity moreso than wages.

    Pardon my confusion, this is a Gen 3 thread so I assumed you had a third gen Tacoma.

    Both my first and second gen’s were made at NUUMI in Fremont, CA! That’s a Tesla plant now.

    Temporary workers, I think that's who GM has building Corvettes. I don't know if sourcing the cheapest available labor cost will guarantee workers whith good work ethic. Temporary positions won't get you people with a track record with good consistent work ethic.

    The manufacturer should allow the customer to build their own vehicle. For a discount you can spend up to two weekd building and taking care of QC procedures of your own vehicle.

    @Nirango kid

    I'm just glad I bought mine when I did: took delivery on May 14, 2021. Only added items from Mfg was the floor mats and door sills...MSRP $38,803.

    I looked at the driver side door jam to see date of Mfg the other night and low and behold it was Apr 2021. Mine was hot off the press and it route to dealership location in Maryland.

    I've never owned a Black Vehicle and I was always put off by people complaining about the color.

    Some have suggested I de-badge/blacken the chrome but I'm not in a hurry to do anything at the moment.

    I am up to 2500 miles. Baja built. First issue: HVAC blower fan is noisy. Little vibration. I will check for a leaf before scheduling it in but otherwise it has been flawless so far.

    It appears there are 2 Tacoma manufacturing plants in Mexico; Baha, Calif , Mexico and Guanajuato, Mexico. Are both plants producing similar quality Tacomas? My 2016 TRDOR was built in San Antonio and quality was great up until the timing chain cover started leaking oil at 59,600 miles at 71 months. I’m not sure but seal may be a robotically applied sealant vs a gasket. No other problems for almost 7 years but only about 8500 miles per year.

    I believe all of the 3.5 liter V6 engines (and possibly the 2.7 I4 engines as well) are all built in the United States, regardless of which Mexican factory they are dropped into our Tacomas.

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure the engines in these trucks are built at different u.s. plants than where the trucks are actually assembled. My 2001 tundra 4.7 engine was built in west Virginia, but the truck was assembled in Indiana.

    So if the dealer you will buy from has 2 Tacomas you would take, 1 from the Baha plant and 1 from the Guanajuato plant, it’s a coin toss? Really just comes down to body panel fitment? I’m seeing window stickers from both plants at dealer I’m likely to buy from. Really just debating colors but have found 2 identically equipped trucks in transit.

    My very late 2022 production Tacoma was built in Guanajuato; it is literally perfect from a fit and finish perspective.

    I really don't think that there is a difference between being built or assembled in the U.S or Mexico. The Toyota quality is the same regardless. just saying
