    Damn!!! Haha!
On one of my flights from Moscow to Kazakhstan it was summer hot as hell.....we were rolling out to the aircraft on a Russian POS bus no a/c, stopped they wouldn't let us off to board the jet. In the meantime the sweaty captain was walking around the jet with this sweaty dirty looking mechanic....the captain was pointing to things and kicking the tire of the front landing gear for about 20 mins..... I was like holy shiiite.......and I'm gonna fly this for another 8 hours to a Russian steppe....desert !
    Not the best day.....

It is amazing! And why they now let these planes with just 2 engines do international flights over water etc.

Your next Tacoma, Thundra and 4Runner could be built in Guanajuato Mexico.
I'm in the market for a off road 4runner made in Japan. I won't take one made in Mexico. This is sad news.

"We're going to concentrate only on pickups at the beginning and are studying the potential for SUVs in the future," said a cautious Luis Lozano, Toyota de Mexico spokesman, to Mexican media.

I worked in an automated automotive manufacturing plant as a quality and reliability engineer... you’d think this would be the case, but I’d have to respectfully Disagree based on what I’ve seen. 0.02

Mexican truck, quality has been good except for whistling door seal problem

Doesn't matter where the 3rd Gen is built, they skimped on the quality anyway. My 2018 says it's made in the USA but the rear diff says made in Thailand. Lol. I crawled under the truck and noticed the chassis isn't even square, it's like a "C" frame with thinner metal than previous generations. The tire change tools also look and feel cheap, made in China too. Regardless, I still love my taco. Lol.

Not sure, do you have any relevant data?

Not the jingoistic anti-American worker, anti Mexican crap you usually post, but actual "facts".

Damn, if the 4Runner is going to be made in Mexico, then the only 4X4 left made in Japan will be the Land Cruiser.

    You guys...
Trust me, there is world class manufacturing in all the countries you mention above. There is also shit manufacturing, including in the US, in all the countries listed as well.
The country is not indicitave of quality of finished product, the COMPANY PRODUCING IT IS. Proper training and management is the key, and companies, not countries, control this. Mexico, US, Canada, Japan, Thiland, Japan, etc: What products do these countries build? The answer is NONE! However, many companies build product in these countries.

If you are going to blame someone for an inferior product, at least get your facts straight before you do so.

Not buying a product brcause it is "made in Thiland" is silly. Find the company that produced that product and blame them for poor management and training, then you will be placing the blame on the correct entity.

Mexico’s wage repression scheme creates a Nirvana for global automakers.

A system of wage repression in auto manufacturing that has long undermined the Mexican labor market, has dragged on the local economy, and has spread downward wage pressures to US autoworkers has been revealed by an AP story in the Detroit News.

Most of the workers at the new Audi factory in the state of Puebla, inaugurated in 2016 and assembling the Audi Q4 SUV, which carries a sticker price in the US of over $40,000 for base versions, make $2.25 an hour, according to the Union. With all of the cost cutting moving to Mexico prices should be going down for consumers not up. I see no benefit to the consumer and harm being done to U.S. auto workers by wage suppression while record profits soar for the automakers.

I don't buy Japanese cars and trucks often but when I do buy I prefer them to be made in Japan by a Japanese auto worker.

    Why is that?

And if true, I guess no new Tacomas in your future.

Where was your current Tacoma built? CA, TX or Baja?

How is the "quality" of that rig?

    ありがと

The Japanese are on another level when it comes to auto-manufacturing. A good example is the final QC checks on finished Toyota Land Cruisers by all female teams because they feel a woman's touch can find flaws.
