Sorry if this is a really stupid or uninformed question, but I am looking into new 17" wheels and tires for my '10 Tacoma and I've NEVER bought new wheels before, always driven stock, so I have no idea what brands are good quality and which are junk. I'm looking to keep it pretty reasonable, less than $2,000 for new wheels and tires IF possible. Tires I've already pretty much nailed down. I appreciate any advice/info!

So like the TRD ones I see for sale? I've looked into those but A. I cant tell between genuine OEM and knock-offs and B. I'd LIKE to have some poke without using wheel spacers, but I will use spacers if OEM wheels are the best options.

Edit: love your profile pic, by the way. Buckethead is my favorite guitar player on the planet!

You can get almost new 17" take offs from 3rd gens on here (marketplace) all the time.

I love my American Racing Wheels. They were $115/ea, which let me spend a little more on tires. I think all in wheels and tires (285/75-16) was like $1200.

Tirerack will show multiple opinions, and a sorta picture of your truck with them. I like to shop by weight, lighter is good. Maybe not so for 4wd, outta my realm.

Cheap spacers are a recipe for disaster. I bought some billet ones out of necessity, no issues other than having to get longer studs. Arp makes excellent studs.

I don't think I've ever read a comment or post about a bad wheel brand that makes wheels that fit a Tacoma.
