I’m interestd this question as well.

That seems a fairly steep hill to climb. Check out car-part.com

If you buy your truck back from them, do they cancel a tax payout as well? I’ve been told that if I buy my wrecked truck, I won’t get a payout on the taxable value, because “I no longer need to buy a replacement truck”.

    Someday...
When I started wheeling, oh around 1980, every pickup or jeep had a freakin' roll bar. What ever happened to those days? :burnrubber:

If you do part it out, I'll take the fuse box cover and rear bed cubbies.

Id say its a total loss.

    Why?

-Airbag Deployed, they will want to replace it, plus the headliner, pillars, seat belts. If the seat bag deployed they would need to replace that also
-Roof will have to be replaced
-A pillar would have to be cut out and replaced
-Body work to doors if there is damage/replace hinges if gaps are off.
-Truck Bed right side might need to be replaced or repaired.

With the pica provided I would need to see more to fully determine

Apologizes life has been crazy and I've been away from the internet for a little. I ended up selling the truck out right to another member from Reno Nevada.

Just to share a story, some great misfortune turned into quite the stroke of luck when I was driving to work and another truck purposefully ran into me on the freeway. I was driving a 2000 Ranger and I loved that little truck. A Tacoma was coming up behind me on the freeway at 4 am so there was pretty much nobody on the road. When I moved from the fast lane to the next lane over (to allow it to pass) it moved over as well and started riding my ass pretty bad. I then moved to the next lane over and he followed staying behind me. He proceeded to move into the slowest lane then once he was along side me he merged into me trying to push me into the center divider. when I hit my brakes he spun out and rolled his truck maybe 6 times where I was able to gain control and pull over. Anyhow he claimed it was a failed lane change and I couldn't prove it was done on purpose but he had no insurance. Luckily I had full coverage on my $2000 truck (which I was made fun of for constantly but my monthly was only $108). The insurance company offered me $8000 on my totaled Ranger and sold it back to me for 800 bucks which was pretty sweet considering it still ran but had lots of cosmetic damage and a slight pull to the left after the encounter. I took that remaining money and used it for a down payment on my first Tacoma which happened to be the same model, year, and trim as the other drivers. So yeah fuck him but I definitely got the best outcome possible especially considering that getting into a collision in my state with no insurance gets your license automatically revoked for a year and can be followed by a $5000 penalty.

-basicly the moral of the story is its not all bad when a truck gets totaled as long as you have proper coverage and everyone involved is okay-
