Is that pic without shocks? What's your shackle angle at ride height? My 63s don't droop a lot just flexing it but on forced articulation they really open up.

That is with the shocks on. Shackle angle is parallel with the frame at ride height.

Parallel with the frame? That's not good

Yeah that's why I'm going to try the double approach. If the doesn't work I'll cut off the rear hangers and reposition them.

New setup with double shackles. Going to cycle it later today and see if it's any better. On my quick trip around the block it should felt way better.

Stock shackle hanger location? That would be the reason you have no flex. You have to remount both the spring and shackle hangers.

No. The rear has been pushed back from stock but it was the previous owner that did it so I don't know exactly how much. I agree though that that is the reason for the lack.

Good call. I've been thinking of that. I'm going to add it to the short list since I need to drain my diffs anyway. Thanks!

You might consider a longer shackle and getting rid of the missing link. My spring eye is about the same location and I run like a 6 inch long shackle (with the stablizer thing connecting them cut out). Its way more predictable on the trail than missing link in my experience and won't* make a ton of noise every time you git a bump and they open and close.

Although both my brothers ran missing links on their samarui's with no problems. Front and rear.

I'd agree with the others that most likely your shocks are binding up and that's why your not getting full droop. Take them off and try the same flex and I'll be they drop way more. My brother (after selling the sami) ran 62's on his 4runner and they flexed like crazy from the get go but he moved his shocks to the top of the axle and up into a ^ shape.

The fill hole and drain hole are the same size. The ones they sell are low profile and less likely to get backed out or knocked off on the trail.

My drain plug is so mangled I cant get it off so I tacked in in place. You can drain the diff with the lowest diff stud pulled out. I replaced the stud with a bolt.

I have some 6" shackle plates my buddy left at my house from his YJ that I might drill out this weekend and throw them on. I also have some long billy 5125s to throw on and splurged on a shock relocate for the rear just haven't gotten around to doing it. Hoping that'll help the droop.
Copy that. I didn't know that about the stud. Great idea! Thanks a ton for all the info!
