Question about 4 Lo

Is it normal for the truck to beep constantly while the truck is in 4 Lo or should I take it to go get looked at?

 

If it's beeping , it's not engaged in 4LO

Are you sure 4lo is engaged? Truck would be moving at less than half the normal speed.

If truck is not in Neutral when you shift into 4lo, it will beep.

 

Go to a complete stop and put it in neutral then engage 4Lo

 

Sounds like I didn't use 4Lo at all today then.

I was in Park, when I turned the switch. I suppose I should have consulted the manual more carefully....

 

It's on the driver's side visor too

 

Mine is often obstinate about engaging

 

Have to be in neutral for it to engage. Same with the locker. If either had beeping then they have not engaged yet. Also if you lock your truck with the key fob before closing all doors, it will beep and then not lock the doors. Why? Idk...

 

Mine beeps in 4 Low. I only use it to get up on ramps when I change oil or do some maintenance.

I had the same problem until I realized you have to push the clutch in to switch to low range. Read the visor and figured it out.

So if you have a manual that's your problem.

 

Yeah I found it doesn't want to engage the front diff unless it's spinning.

 

Thanks for the tips y'all. I am dumb, and when I followed instructions (neutral, and stationary) it went into 4 Low no problem at all, and no beeping.
