new to the whole detailing thing and I know that there are so many different products out there. one thing that I see is when people are drying they are using AMMO hydrate. I didn't see it on Amazon or if there was a different brand that people use and have had success with that you can get from a local retail store. looking to get it asap and try it out. also, thinking about getting a foam cannon ( I do have a power washer ) but is there something as good that you can use off the water hose? never have used a cannon or attachment so is there a special pressure solution that I have to use or just use the soap I am using to wash? recommendations?? thanks for any help

I doubt there is anything you can get at a retail store unless you have a detailing store near you.

Nothing that hooks up to a hose will work like a foam cannon. Foam guns are probably the closest thing but they do not lay down foam like a cannon.

As far as mixture, I just use my Adam's car shampoo. You will need a quality soap. Usually a concentrated soap works better.

You can use most any detail spray or spray wax as a drying aid. They just add some lubricity to the surface to help prevent towel induced swirls when drying the vehicle. Some spray waxes might streak and require a flip or two of the towel to a dry side for a final wipe.

I often use Duragloss Aquawax as a drying aid. Megs Ultimate Quick Wax isn't bad either if you want over the counter stuff. If you have a detail spray, that's fine too. Griots Speed Shine is nice. Try something out, if you don't like it, try something else.

I use a Leaf Blower to blow most of the water off and then follow up with a Microfiber Drying Towel, the Leaf Blower also does a great job at getting water out of the stubborn areas.

I've been doing the same for years with a cheap electric blower. Wonder if the ones made specifically for blowing off cars are any good but can't see spending $2-300 for one.

Same here, a $30 or $40 Electric Blower does the job. I could not see spending that kind of cash for a specific one cause I could not justify the cost.
