When there is odd shifting or any weird problem after flashing a new tune, I would do a reset LV and AT then give it another try. If this problem persists, then I would flash back to another tune or a different variation to see if the problem remains. If it does, then let the dealership check it out to see if it is mechanical/transmission related.

If you want my help with the problem, please PM me and we can figure this out together.

I've had something similar happen on my bone-stock '20 TRD OR. Particularly in a situation where enough throttle was applied to call for a kick-down but then lifted the throttle, for whatever reason, and the trans seems to almost go into neutral, for a second or 2 and then catches-up.

Mines done this stock tune and on 2.0. It’s fairly random, but happens often. Sometimes it even shoots to redline once it does catch on. and yes, I have bad decel vibes on a stock truck.

Thanks. I'll try a different tune and see what happens. After that I'll try a reset. I'll let you know.

The reason I asked about the deceleration vibes is because I wonder if there is a correlation. My vibes nearly went away on 2.0 but were reintroduced on 6.0. When it begins to happen I can put the truck in neutral and it will smooth out and stop normally. This has led me to believe the vibes are coming from the transmission, and those of us with that issue may be more prone to this "slipping". I'm going to try some other files and see what happens.

I have had similar things happen after flashing different tunes, only to have them go away after clearing learning values or flashing another tune, giving it a tank, and then re-flashing the previous tune.

I think it is a result of deficiencies in Toyota's shifting and learning logic. The tuners do not have access to modify those things. My theory is that the truck settles out to an equilibrium that does not shift well for the combination of your driving style and the maps @PapaRee created. By clearing learning values the truck may settle to a different equilibrium.

    I sent you a PM.
We will get it figured out or give you a refund.

This thread is definitely going to bring out some trolls. So I will keep it on the PM.

    My personal thought on resets:

If the tune has minor adjustments compared to what I was running just before the flash, I won't perform any resets. If there are significant adjustments or changes, I'll do the reset. I don't think it hurts to do a reset, so sometimes I'll do it just because.

I assume this happens at low speeds, around 3-4 gear. The issue is with 3-4 upshift/downshift points/high throttle limits and optimal torque mods. I did noticed an early downshift to 3rd and quite high speeds for being in 3rd.
I had ask Kreg to lower upshift 3-4 a few days ago. May need to lower 4-3 downshift, allow to stay in 4th a bit longer
Currently I'm back to 4.0 that allows me to edit shift points to optimize tip in and 3-4-3 shift points.

I flashed back to 2.0 and was able to recreate what I've been experiencing, it's just more subtle. I think the aggressiveness of regular throttle on 6.0 was just making it more intense. I'm probably going to reset and then flash to SLT.

I want to add that this tune has made me enjoy my truck and want to keep it longterm. I didn't mean to suggest that any mechanical issues arose from this tune and I hope nobody took it that way. I still recommend KDMAX is it will make your truck 10x more fun to drive. In addition to that PapaRee's customer support is top notch!
