Just got an automatic 2012 Tacoma PreRunner, V6, double cab, long bed with 20K miles on it. I've noticed that when the truck just coasting and decreasing speed from 40-25mph, It feels like the brake being tapped and that the truck is slowing down in in between 40-25mph. Does anyone know what's going on? Any info is appreciated.

    Thank you!!!

Not at all. Just like the brakes are being applied very slowly and it feels like the truck is slowing down.

Do you have an auto? What you are describing sounds like the Tacoma is downshifting and hunting for gears. Right around 35-40 mph if I let my truck coast while typcally driving on hilly roads, my Tacoma will feel like it is just sitting between gears. It feels like it is slowing itself down/gets sluggish until I hit the gas to get back to 40, and then it feels normal.

But to put it short....between 35-39 mph if I let it coast it feels like it is dragging knuckles until I go either below 35 or hit 40 mph.

Yes, it is an automatic and what you're describing sounds like what I'm experiencing. I first noticed it going down hill. I love to just coast down and not waste gas but noticed it down shifting and slow the truck down when it gets to 40 going down past 25. Anything under 20 mph feels normal. It's just that range in between 40-25 mph. Is this normal?
