After a bit more research and user input, I've decided to bail on the 5100/OME set-up and go with the Eibach Stage 2 kit with a 1" block in the back for my 2WD mall crawler. Sounds like it's a better option for 100% street use. I also like the adjustability of the front struts, which can be used to lift the truck in fine increments and also adjust out the "Taco Lean" without additional spacers.

I plan to get everything installed, and since the rear is on fixed 1" blocks, us that as the metric to set the height in the front. I see a lot of folks measure to the fender well, but are the front and rear the exact same height from the ground on a perfectly leveled truck? I wonder if one arch might be higher. I figured a better method would be to measure from the ground to the frame, or perhaps even the body pinch weld.

    Thoughts?

Rake is good, and engineered into the truck for multiple reasons.

But if you insist on the aesthetics of leveling, a level on the bottom edge of the rocker panel is a great way to get there.

So are the front shocks threaded in this particular kit, allowing the fine adjustment you mention? As opposed to the 5100's that just use perch choices to get approximate lift heights?

Actually, I don't mind what I've measured as 1" of rake in the trucks stance. I may just leave a bit of rake in, perhaps 1/2". And yes, the struts are threaded, so you're not relegated to fixed perch choices as you are with both the 5100's and the Eibach Stage 1 kit. I think that would allow for much finer adjustments, and also allow for side-to-side adjustment without additional hardware. My driver side is 1/4" lower than the passenger side. What's nice is they can be adjusted after installation, so any settling can also be accommodated for in the future.
