    Good morning, all,

So two weeks ago I began to notice that I would press the gas pedal but there was less power than usual and the rpms didn't want to go up. I took my 2006 4 cylinder 4wd Tacoma to my trusted mechanic and he said the catalytic converter was shot. It is actually making rattling noises inside!

He also said that, due to rust, he thought he would probably have to replace the entire exhaust system... starting with the exhaust manifold all the way back.

I had read about LCE headers, and thought this was a great chance to put that on the truck, however their website says they can't ship anything out for six weeks after ordering.

-- So at this point I would like to go to Rock Auto and order the stock parts and give them to my mechanic to install so I can just get the truck working again, as it is my only vehicle. (I've found that buying the parts myself saves money).

--- But when I go to Rockauto.com, I don't see exhaust manifold listed anywhere. Do they not carry that or what? I searched under "exhaust manifold" and "headers" but I can't get anything to come up...

My apologies in advance if this is a dumb question, and thanks for any insight you have!

    Thanks so much!

I just wish the wait wasn't so long on the LCE one - this would be such a great opportunity to get some improved performance, however I can't be without a vehicle for 7 weeks!

I’m curious why the exhaust manifold, is he worried he’s gonna break the studs where the down pipe attaches?

Yea. He will try to save it but said it's possible he could break the studs. If I could get an LCE aftermarket header I would just because it would be a great time to do it. Maybe he'll be able to get it apart, but he's not hopeful.
