Question about selling wheels

So as some here may have noticed, I’ve changed out my 2020 Tacoma sport OEM wheels for some Methods. I would like to sell the OEM’s, with lugs and a set of locking lugs and wanted to ask all of you knowledgeable folks what might a fair price for the set of four be. The wheels have 10,000 miles on them and are in almost like new shape. I say almost only because they are not new, but are in great shape.

 

$300.00 to $400.00 maybe or offer singles as spares. Soak up all the water on them and clean them up good, they will go quick. I would want a single for myself.

 

FYI, keep some OEM lug nuts for your spare wheel (unless you got 5 methods).

You can always start at $100/wheel which is pretty reasonable; the market seems to always land around $300-$350 for a set here on craigslist from what I see.

 

I'd sell all of them together in the 3rd gen marketplace and wheels marketplace and locally. A lot of owners with 2016-2019 are looking for newer oems.

I feel like I must be missing something (wouldn’t be the first time) but why wouldn’t I use the lugs on my new wheels for my spare should I need it?

Most modern wheels (non TRD) use ET conical lug nuts.

 

I was not aware of this.
When did they get away from the shank style? 2016?

 

Most OEM or OEM style wheels (TRD, stock, TRD repros) use the stock lug nuts so no worries there.

Aftermarket wheels largely don't use shank style. I've never had any that use shank style. I personally like it because lug centric always centers things nice.

Aftermarket wheels (methods, kmcs, pretty much everything) use the conical 60 deg. seat lug nuts. Now, since Toyota uses such short lug nuts, the wheel companies will usually open the bore up of their wheels to take an ET threaded 60 deg. conical seat lugnut. This also helps center the wheel a bit.
