It's like people don't know what a test drive is. I don't have these problems people seem to have. But then again I don't expect it to act like a truck with a 6.2L V8 and 400+ hp

    It's a V6, not a V8. It's not a diesel either.

My truck does not do that. You step on it, it goes fast, anytime.

You on the latest ECU software?

I have been on this forum for awhile, and I really don't understand the "lack of power" or "constantly shifting AT".

My 10/15 TX built truck is a pleasure to drive. Shifts smoothly, plenty of power when needed, good gas mileage when I drive conservatively, and no issues with leaking, weeping, etc.

I don't post about it much anymore, because I know some members here are having issues, but if I wasn't happy I am certain I would have dumped it if anything substantially better was available.

At least the member you were quoting saw himself out of the chat- props for that, imo.

I think a lot of people never owned a truck before buying the tacoma. This is not a v8 or a torquey diesel. Its a truck that is tuned for fuel economy, but still can tow decent weight and perform great off road.

I drove 2019 off road AT and it drove beautiful. I actually thought people were right about the AT, but as soon as i drove one, i changed my mind.

It works just how it was designed to and no "hunting" was going on, also power when needed. Press skinny pedal and she goes.
Maybe millenials need to work out their leg muscles a bit more.:notsure:

Its funny when people still post shit like: tacoma is a dog, no low end torque, weird shifting etc.

I have no issues with my truck, except for couple recalls. It drives amazing, looks even better and its built like a tank. Also, gets better than advertised fuel economy, best vehicle i have owned.

every 2GR-FKS MT truck should have OV. if you want your hardware to perform as it is designed, that is. Toyota's contrived and ineffective factory tune is severely muted relative to OV. the 2016's and many of the 17's were the worst.

how you are getting around i have no idea. mine was so bad i was about to sell the truck before finding a solution. but i gotta say it's mighty nice to have your hardware open and and perform right. mismatching between software & hardware is a really frustrating experience. it's super direct, clear, and strong now.
