I bought a dual cab V6 Sport with a manual transmission.

I'm curious though if I have the Sport Upgrade package on it. If I do, I got an even better deal than I was expecting.

My understanding is that the Sport does not come with the blind spot mirror alert or a moonroof.

    My Sport has them.

Or --- are these standard on the Sport dual cabs that come with a manual transmission?

No, I did not see the dealer window sticker.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Yes you got the tech and premium package, it is an option on any TRD model sport or off road. HH I believe.

Yours is upgraded. I'm pretty sure the dealer didn't mess up.

Thanks. I wasn't meaning to imply the dealer made an error --- the price I paid was the lowest I could find for a manual dual cab Sport and only a couple hundred more than the best price on a base Tacoma with auto.

Their website said Sport but nothing about the Sport upgrade package.

If it has it....I'm even more happy. :)

Somehow doubt you got a Sport with HH package for a couple hundred more than an base Tacoma with auto. Maybe a TRD base. Congrats on purchase.

The base auto transmission Tacoma I test drove last week was going to be $42,500 (inc taxes). Keep in mind that price is Canadian.

This is what I bought today. Driving home I noticed it had the blind spot alert and that's what jogged my memory about it only coming (or so I thought) on the Sport Upgrade package.

    http://www.stratfordtoyota.com/detail.php?stockno=T16200

The total came to $42,800 (within a few $$...I don't have the bill of sale in front of me).

It also has mud guards (wasn't expecting that). Though I don't need (and didn't want) the towing package --- how can you tell if it has a towing package?

I actually bought this over the phone.

After test driving one last week I knew it was the truck for me.

I found a manual transmission online (apparently there were only two manual transmission dual cabs in ON --- now only one) and liked the colour.

I phoned them Tues night, gave them a deposit via CC, rec'd a call Wed morn from their financing guy, dealt with that in 10 minutes, drove to the dealership today (4 hours away) and within 10 minutes was driving away in the truck.

An easy transaction for sure. :)

if you have a moonroof, then you have the Premium & Technology package. Moonroof is a part of that package.

Seeing you seem to be confused on packages, a base tacoma as in SR with no options is about $8-12 grand less than the Tacoma you bought, again I EXTREMELY doubt you were quoted on a true base model tacoma, maybe a TRD base. Either that dealer was an absolute idiot over charging you or you didnt get the cost of a base tacoma on your TRD with options, no way in hell you got a TRD Sport with options for the price of a base Tacoma, sorry bud but the dealer would be losing massive money on that deal.

Do you need to know, or care?
All Cdn models come with mud guards and 4X4 come with tow packages, not Sure on the 2WD though.

Yea, I'll admit I'm confused. Lol.

Here's what I test drove last Fri. I saw the window sticker and it had no options listed as compared to the Sport models that were there.

It doesn't have the dual zone heat, moonroof or any TRD sticker. It's just a regular, plain SR5 with auto.

Congrats on the truck OP. Regardless of price you did indeed get a TRD Sport model with the premium and technology package. Very nice truck.

Hey...I honestly have no clue. Is the hitch secured to the truck differently than the class 4 hitches? I dunno?

I'm just curious if it was another add-on that adds value to my truck for the price I paid.

Check to see if there is a what looks like a mini-radiator in front of your regular radiator. I don't know the technical term for it, but if you have that you have the factory tow package I believe.

But it is a longbed, and yes there is a $2-3k difference between a HH package DCSB Sport and and SR5 DCLB at least here in the states, one is about $34-35k the other $36-37k. So you did well, and based on the hitch, you have the tow package at least a states configured.
