I recently purchased a set of 2017 factory take-offs. Are the sensors compatible with my 2013? local (and only) Toyota dealership is useless. I have found nothing conclusive online. Thanks in advance!

I had to use the sensors out of my 2014 when I had the 2016 Wheels installed. They are compatible as far as fit, but I don't believe they will work with the receiver. I could be wrong.

The third gens have individual tire readings on the dash, so the system is completely different than our second gens. I doubt the sensors are compatible.:notsure:

One thing I do know is that the 3rd Gen sensors operate at 315Mhz as do the 2nd Gen ones...I was being hopeful.

315 is the most common sensor in the industry so they might work. I'm just not very hopeful. Let me know if I'm wrong if you find out you can use them.

Will do...I'm heading to a tire shop on Friday.

My dealership said they didn't know if they'd work or not, didn't seem to give a damn about trying to find out, told me to book an appointment and I'd be charged an hour whether they worked or not.

No love...the 2017 sensors were not seen by my 2013 truck. I have 4 OE sensors for sale I guess!! :)

It is more of a live and learn thing as I sold my original tires shortly after buying the new ones while my winter ones were still installed on the truck. I do agree that I can live without them. In fact it is the first vehicle I have owned with tire pressure sensors. If they would have worked then great, otherwise I'm not spending anymore money. They did however come in handy one time when my young daughter was driving the truck. I know for sure that she is one of those people who could possibly drive for miles on a flat tire before realizing it. God forbid something happens... On one day the tire pressure light came on and she pulled over and immediately phoned me it was at that moment I did in fact put stock in the system. Just saying.
