    Hey everyone,
I have a 2014 Tacoma 4x2 that was involved in a minor fender-bender a few months ago. The driver of the other car (who was drunk) turned too wide and ended up hitting the left front corner of my bumper, caving it in. My left front wheel was also hit, causing my truck to be out of alignment afterwards. I got the alignment issue fixed right away, so the truck drives great now.
However, I can no longer turn the traction control off using the button on the dash. I can't figure out how a hit on the front wheel could affect the traction control system since it is a two-wheel-drive truck. Any thoughts? Am I missing something? Thanks.

So your ABS, Brake, and Traction Control lights aren't on with the engine running but the button does nothing when you press it?

Just thinking out loud....possibly a broken/faulty ABS sensor. But then I'd expect a dash light too were that the case.

Check all the brake lines too (hard & soft) for kinks or damage.

Does the button do anything when pressed?

Dm93, The traction control light is the only light that is lit up, indicating the traction control is on. When I press the button on the dash, the light doesn't go out.

Homeline, That's interesting, I didn't know the ABS and traction control were interconnected, that's definitely something to consider I guess. No, the button doesn't appear to do anything when pressed.

The traction control light shouldn't normally come on when the truck is running, you need to see what code(s) you have in the ABS. My hunch would be that the steering angle sensor is out of calibration.

They are, Traction Control, ABS, and Stability Control all use a combination of wheel speed sensors, steering angle sensor, and accelerometers. All of which are inputs to the Skid Control ECU (ABS Module), the ABS and ECM work together to accomplish Traction and Stability Control so a fault in either the engine system (check engine light) or the ABS will disable Traction and Stability Control.
