So I'm wondering if you guys center your sliders with the same amount of distance between the front and rear fenders? Or a little bit forward or rear? The trail gear slider rear scab plate has a bit of a gap where the rear frame starts to turn up at the leaf spring hanger. It looks like I have to move them forward to have a flat surface to weld to.

image.jpg IIRC I lined up the front of the tube with the front fender bolt.

^^^^ damn that's an awesome looking reg cab!

We centered them and then looked at where the scab plates sit for welding. I think we did bump them forward a bit to avoid what you are talking about.

That the stock angle they sit at? Looks perfect.

Thanks, I'll just slide them forward until I get to the flat spot on the frame. BTW these sliders are very nicely put together for the price. The welds are beautiful. Very happy with the quality so far.

    Thanks!

Not sure how they are made now, but when I ordered mine in 2013 the legs were not welded to the main slider tube so I could adjust the angle and depth however I wanted. I chose that angle and depth for maximum protection and minimal protrusion.

I also used 4"x4"x.250" plates turned on end (diamond), with a 1.75" hole drilled through them for the legs to slip into (butting against the frame) and welded the legs to the plates. Then I added a piece of .250" plate in the shape of a triangle to the tops of the legs to create a gusset to eliminate any upward movement. Then fully welded the plates and gussets to the frame. I have bashed these on rocks several times with no damage, and I've lifted my truck up with a forklift on the sliders with a magnetic dial caliper to see how far they would deflect and saw absolutely no change on the dial.

20171222_191109.jpg These ones come pre assembled with plates and gussets already welded to the legs. Just fit and weld to the frame.

Yeah. They're the bolt on TG sliders right? That's how mine looked too. I ordered the bolt ones and had them welded on. I have a DC though.

They are the TG bolt on, but I'm going to weld them for sure. Same length as the DC for extra cab. Any pictures or the rear plate welded on? I'm just trying to get an idea of how far back people are going with these.

So this is yet another reason I should learn to weld then.

Any chance you have a pic showing the angle and distance from the bottom of the cab?

What size tires are you running? Regular cab for the win.

Sorry bout not getting any pics yesterday. I'll try to get them today. Been busy. And today is my daughter's B day. It's still dark outside right now where I live. If @Revco doesn't get them for you first. I'll have some for you around Noon PST.

No problem. It's is Christmas and there are a lot of family obligations this time of year. Plus it's not like I'll be putting these on anytime soon... unless there for my snowmobile.

Here ya go. Tried my best. The rear mount doesn't look like it's welded all the way around in the photos. But it is.
