If your Tacoma's paint ever did fade and you opted for a full repaint, aftermarket durability would really depend on the quality of the prep, materials, and the type of clear coat applied. Factory paint jobs are done in controlled environments with robotic precision, so matching that quality isn’t easy—but some high-end shops can definitely exceed it in terms of protection. That said, repainting is a big decision. You can avoid going down that road entirely just by protecting the paint now with regular washing, using pH-neutral soaps, and applying a UV-blocking wax or ceramic every few months.
