I looked into it with my SR, I think it is a possibility but extremely expensive unless you can source the parts from a junkyard. The sensor was crazy expensive and the wiring wasn't present.

This is how it was done on a Tundra so it should be similar

I don't think so. I think a while back someone looked into it and it needed BCM change or something along the lines.
