How it going guys, I’m considering trading in my 2017 Tacoma Sr5 for a trd OR 4x4 manual. Question is, I had to notch my pinch welds when I installed my demello sliders (they were a mistake batch I picked up for cheap). Should I remove the sliders, cut a piece of flat stock and fill in where I notched the pinch welds so you can’t tell it was ever done, or leave it as is? Will having notched the pinch welds be a problem when trading it in? Any input would be appreciated.

They won't even notice it. Or even care. They are more concerned with selling you a truck.

Just leave it notched, they will never notice that it has been done.

Way over thinking it. You’ll be fine cause they know they are hosing you anyways on the deal.

They will just deduct the price of the notches when inspection time for trade.

They will also notch your rear in the price for trade. Just bend over and take it
like a man, and bring some joy gel.

Leave it. No big deal. Also, do enough research and shop around and know the actual value of your truck and you won’t get hosed. Buying a car isn’t rocket science.... just don’t let your impulses get the best of you.

    Don't trade, sell it yourself.

Private party pricing is always more than trade in value, regardless of what number they tell you.

If the truck is in spectacular condition you can ask between Private and Retail. Even if you wind up selling slightly under Private, you'll be well over Trade in.

Wanna know what it's really worth? Call a good lender and ask what the loan value is.

Go towards the evening and on the weekend when they are closed the next day. This way they will not see these issues you are talking about. Don’t give them an answer yet and ask if you can take it home to make sure that’s the truck you want, come back next business day and sign papers.

Those notches won't make any difference. They are going to give you thousands less on a trade in anyways verses selling it yourself.

If they really want to beat you up on trade about the notches I’d tell them they’ll have to increase the trade value and reinstall the sliders.

Their desire to screw you will be measured against their desire to screw the guy they want to sell your truck to.

Know your value, hold out for max, be willing to walk away, and remember that they salivate over having Tacoma's on used lot.

Oh there will be some mods all right
They definitely wont notice. My truck had a 1 million (slight exaggeration) point inspection before I got it and when I got home I found a 14 inch piece of wood jammed along side the gas tank. You'd think their "inspection" would have found that.

I plan on keeping the sliders on it if I trade it so I’m hoping the won’t notice it.
