Anyone here who has done this mod themselves willing to offer any insight as to how they separated the grille insert from the grille surround? The tabs appear to be melted or epoxied, and I don't really know what method to use in separating them. I tried to search this topic, but any replies have been "just separate the insert from the surround" type answers...no specifics as to how to do it.

For me, this was the most difficult part of the whole thing. Once you do this, there is no going back. I used a dremel tool and a drill bill and used it as a milling tool. It worked pretty good, but was not as accurate as I would have liked. You can cover most every mistake up if you have even a little fiberglass and bondo skill.

Cool. Thanks. My satoshi insert is already done (Thanks again, TY!). I just need to take apart my new color-matched grille so I can use the color-match surround with the satoshi insert. The grille assembly used to make the satoshi was never permanently attached so this issue wasn't, well, an issue at that time...
