What size tires do you have? When you install large tires you loose power and loose gas mileage with the stock gears. So some people change the gears in the differential to return the power and mileage to stock.

You will have to buy a new ring and pinion gear. Changing gears can be difficlult to do yourself unless you are a good mechanic. Most people take it to a mechanic.
