Hey guys I was going to Fluid Film the rocker panels and the drain holes of my door this weekend. I have a 2014 Tacoma.

My question is the rocker panel has rubber plugs I have to pull out to shoot FF inside the rocker panels. I heard FF can swell up some rubbers. Does anyone know if those rocker panel plugs will be affected by the FF? Or the rubber on the door drain holes?

yeah I’m not spraying the frame just the rocker panels but they have a rubber plug, wasn’t sure if the FF affected those plugs. Thanks for the replies guys.

I believe it affects foam rubber and natural rubbers. For example the door seals, I’d try not to get it on those. Other wise, I’ve not had any issues using it on my mowers. Which is the only time I’ve ever used FluidFilm.

    I missed that post.
I recall reading about the foam when I was researching if it was ok to use on plastic. I use FF on my battery powered hedge trimmer. I use it on the blades to keep them from rusting. But some inevitably gets slung off on to the plastic.
So far, everything has been fine.

What you say and the thread link I provided earlier jives with the following FF response to whether it adversely affects plastic and rubber (taken from their website): FLUID FILM has no adverse effects on plastics. Caution should be used around non oil-resistant rubber goods. May cause swelling.
