Question on new front wheel bearings

    Per a Toyota dealership tech, the black ring side goes toward the ABS speed sensor. So, for my 96 non-ABS, the black ring sides are going on the inboard side (towards CVs, away from snap ring). The photos above are interesting and seem to contradict this orientation. Maybe the orientation only matters for ABS vehicles and is also why the bearing style changed for some vehicles. I bet there's a mix out there.

    Edit: Follow up call with different dealership states there is no specific orientation.

    Scratches head, but you know what as long as you have those bearings in properly you should be fine.

    black woolWax, green IFC, borlaCB, custom Line-X PC drums, skid, nuts, hooks, 1/4 silver frame...
    apparently the taco wheel bearings do not need re-packed greased at 150k

    they tend to need to be replaced a bit over 200k :notsure: :notsure:
