I just drained my rear differential fluid. Fluid was very clean after 100k+ miles.
But I am a bit confused and looking for advice regarding the washer in replacing the plug.

As the foto shows, it looks to me like the compressed washer.
And as there was no other washer with the plug when I removed it, my conclusion is that the washer is now bonded to the plug itself.

My attempts to pry it free have been fruitless.
    What to do?
Put a new washer over it or find a better way to pry it off?
What say those with more experience than me?

I would try to re-use it, but pay attention to your rear diff and see if you notice any leaks or seepage. If there is, just buy a new drain bolt and washer if you can't remove the old washer off.

That plug looks like P/N 90341-18057. That ring is part of the plug, not the crush washer. Look on your diff and the washer will likely be stuck there.

Then it's at the bottom of your drain pan, not bonded to your plug. I'd check the diff again just to be sure - sometimes it's tough to notice stuff, especially when you are on your back looking up.

Adding another washer on top of an old one is asking for a leak. Good luck.

I think you're right Gazzer. The ring is part of the plug and the washer probably fell into the drain pan.\
I went ahead and added the new washer and will keep my eye on it.
    Thanks for responding!

    OME and worth every penny.
I'm thinking 90w has a hard time leaking. These washers do a bigger job of keeping water out.

Okay. That ring is definitively part of the plug itself.
I was using a handmade aluminum funnel to catch the oil.
When I was cleaning up I found the washer stuck to that.
That's why I missed it at first.
    Thanks everyone for your insights.

Or if it's still leaking and you can't remove the old crush washer, just get a new threaded plug and crush washer.
