I’m in the process of completing the power rear wind mod on my 05’ Double Cab and I ordered an OEM switch for a 2004-2010 Sienna. The switch doesn’t even come close to fitting, it has a square profile where my truck has the more rounded switch profile. What Sienna switch drops in or do you guys mod the switch to fit?

Did you try pushing it in from the back of the dash?

The switches go from the back out, not front in

Well I’ve tried pushing it backwards from the front and I’ve tried pushing it forwards from the back. It does not appear to be even close to the same design as the switch slots in my dash. Just curious if anyone else out there has had to whittle the Sienna switch down to fit or if they are supposed to drop in? The button won’t even clear the hole.

Is that part around the switch removable? Maybe it's not needed?

Sadly, it's not, first thing I checked. Maybe Toyota changed the slot design later on, strange things the Sienna switch is for an 04-10 Sienna... I see pictures of other Taco's with the same switch fitting perfectly.

Looks to me like the receptacle is a completely different design on the Sienna panel vs the Taco panel.91063508-3C8D-4F45-9F09-859255AA4A61.jpg

Confirmed by at least one person via PM the Sienna switch is not plug and play, modification to the switch socket, and/or the switch are required for use on a Taco.

This is correct. A little work with a dremel tool on the switch will allow it to fit. If you take too much off use tape to increase the size for a tight fit. I am using the sienna switch for my power rear window on an 09. My favorite mod by far.

The power rear window mod is a relatively in depth mod, you’re going to have to do a little wiring, a little mechanical work and possibly some whittling on your truck to make it all work. I’d start at the BENWA thread and read up on what all is involved before you decide if it’s for you or not.

Kind of a bump here. Two things:

    1. It looks like the 11+ switch is kind of cool and may fit the more squared hole in the Tacoma.

    2. Any idea on which pins are what on the 04-10 switch?

    TIA.
