Question regarding bed bike rack

so I just ordered a Thule 501 Insta-Gator bike rack for the bed of my '01 Tacoma and I am wondering if I will be able to securely use it while having the tailgate down.




As you can see in the video, between 1:32-2:00 for example, the straps fit in the groove between the bed and the tailgate.

The reason I am asking this is because my truck has a bed extender, and I doubt I'll be able to install the Thule 501 rack without it being removed.

 

Flip it around to front of the bed

make your own tie downs points to secure it.

If you don`t want to do that or unable to look for another bike rack
