I have noticed that a lot of people have been switching their front tweeters to a Subaru style speaker. . .why is that?

Also, has anyone put any type of sound deadening on their doors? If so, was there a difference to where someone would recommend installing them?

I am looking at replacing all my speakers in the next week or two, and I figured if I have the panels off might as well wrap them in deadening material if it is worth it.

    Thanks if advance!

Check that thread, lots of good info in there. A lot of people including myself are or have already switched out all the speakers because what came in these trucks stock....sucks! It's pretty easy and relatively cheap to get all new speakers in.

My problem with the sound is on the highways windows down at high speeds. Does the Subaru setup help with this.
I’m at 50 volume and can barely hear.

I really hate the stock speakers. . .another question I guess I have is; I plan on getting some 265/70/17 BF Goodrich KO2's, and I am assuming that these tires will be a lot louder than the stock ones I have on their now. . . would the sound deadening material help with that when the windows are up and I am cruising along?

sound deadening is a very good idea especially if the door panels will already be off.

As a side note, I did the Subaru speaker mod a week or so ago and it is a big improvement over the tissue paper oem speakers. I'll probably go for the door speakers a little down the road, but I'm not going to tackle that myself. Just too much stuff in those doors to suite me. I'll have some sound proofing added then.

the reason most people go for the subaru tweeters is because they are completely plug and play and way better than the stock.

    It's a good upgrade.
