    Hi All,

I have a 2006 TRD Sport DCLB AT with 220,000 kms (137,500 miles) and all scheduled maintenance has been done. Recently my a/c light has started flashing and about the same time the truck has started having a sudden RPM drop when at idol (doesn't happen under throttle). It almost feels like the truck is about to stall, RPM's drop to about 400-500 and then will go back to normal.

    1) Could the RPM drop be due to the problem in the air conditioning?

    2) I was told I need a new a/c compressor. I won't need my air conditioning for about 6 months, would there be any harm in me just pulling the fuse or relay to deactivate the a/c system?

    3) Could this be a sign that I need the timing chain replaced?

I'll second the above ^^^. Pull the fuse for the AC to prevent the clutch engaging until you get the AC repaired.

I believe the defrost function runs the a/c to dry out the air, you may me a little foggy on your windshield in the winter without it, but if your a/c compressor is locked up it won't help anyway.
regards to #3, your timing chain should still be fine
