I'm a Newbie, but maybe some of the insiders can help me out....

Is Locking Differential availble for 2011, 4x4, Double Cab, Long Beds ??

I have seen 2 seperate Toyota pdf brochures, and they contradict themselves. One brochure says Locking is available on 4x4's only (short & long), and one brochure says Locking is only available on Short Bed 4x4.....

Also, does anyone know if TRD will continue to mfg the Supercharger for the 2011 Taco ??

I spoke with TRD today, and the sales rep said they do not have anything
avaible for sale, but to speak with my toyota parts dept for details.

The parts dept in my area, was not too knowledgeable.

So any insight is greatly appreciated.

Locking diff is available ONLY with the TRD Offroad package, which Toyota only offers on Access Cab and Double Cab Short-bed Tacomas.

The package can be purchased on 4x4 or PreRunner (4x2 models with 4x4 suspension) trucks, but getting a 4x2 offroad vehicle just seems kind of silly.

The thing you should keep in mind is that the TRD OR package also now offers A-TRAC traction control, which offers advantages similar to front and rear locking differentials when in 4wd low range.

As far as the supercharger, consult your dealer or TRD.

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info. I really wanted the best of both worlds, Long Bed, with OR Package and Locking Diff.....

Looks like we will go Short Bed, with OR Package.....

You can get the OR package on a 4x4 Access Cab and still get the 6 foot bed along with the OR goodies.

You will lose the double cab back row seats, but the Acc cab has jumpseats that work ok for short trips (15 mins or less). It would be inhumane to put humans in the jumpseats for long periods, but pets and cargo fit back there fine.

So the question is: Do you need to seat 4 adults comfortably, or just two?
