Is there a real big difference between basic plus and elite? Seems like just more control of lowering the hood?

No difference in function, the only difference is the finish on the gas spring and warranty.

QuickLIFT PLUS = Black gas springs, black powder coated mounting hardware and a 4 year warranty.
QuickLIFT ELITE= Stainless Steel gas springs, black powder coated mounting hardware and a 5 year warranty.

I noticed that one of my rivets has pulled loose. Any suggestions?

Wow! I completed installing the ELITE this morning after wrestling with the prop rod and heavy metal hood. I discovered that for me installing the bottom strut socket on the ball first was easier. This would have been a great Christmas gift for Dad as it was always hard to think of something he'd need and use, because when the time arose, he'd go out and get it before you had the opportunity. I just told my daughters the same thing, "Sorry, but I've turned into my dad!" After I retired, he'd line up some projects so he'd have an excuse to call and a reason for me to drive (4 hours) over to spend a few days visiting as we got the work done.
To raise the hood, un latch it and give it a bit of a start until the gas strut takes over slowly and gradually speeds up. Lowering it takes just a little effort, and it will latch at the first detent itself, with your gentle push down to latch completely.

Happy Friday All, I have a question regarding redline hood struts. I have on the passenger side a relay holder that seems to be right around were you would mount one of the strut mounts. Has anyone ran into any issues with the relay holder interfering with the struts when the hood is closed? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

https://www.redlinetuning.com/v/vspfiles/templates/Redline/images/21-27016.pdf Peruse the instructions including measurements, and note that the hood ribs have changed over the years. Ask the company if you have any questions about installation. Thanks!

@RedlineTuning Any maintenance recommendations on these? I've happily had mine installed for about 7 years now and they're finally becoming a little tough to operate. They don't seem to operate as smooth or freely. If there's something I can apply to the struts to have them move a little easier I will. Otherwise I'll just replace. Thanks for the great product.

PM the vendor from this thread for advice. You might try wiping them down with a little silicone spray (microfiber towel, nothing rough) before replacing the struts.
