I'm starting to take notes on replacing my dad's rear axle housing for his 2006 Off Road

I'd like to find a used rear end all ready assembled....I seen a frame swap video that showed the rear axle was detached where the leaf springs meet the frame. They rolled the whole thing out of the way. Detached brake lines and drive shaft of course.

The code on the sticker in A04B meaning (Double check me)
    - I have a 8 inch ring gear with a 3.727:1 gear ratio and an E-Locker

Could I consider an A04A or and A04C if that's all I can find? Housing and backing plates without the gears...reusing my existing one.

    OEM Housing - 42110-04152 -

How is this video? as far as.. Is this what I have in the 06 TRD OR? The first one he shows?
I'm just looking for a video to try to understand the assembly.

    Thanks

The housing for an Off Road version is physically different than a non-Off Road version, I believe. If you want to replace the entire rear end assembly with a non-off road version, you could... but you'd obviously not have a rear locker any more...

    The A04A and A04C don't have lockers.

I don't think the 3rd member you have will fit in a non-off road housing.

I am assuming that the reason you are doing this is because your dad's housing needs to be replaced but the 3rd member is fine. If this is the case, I'd track an entire rear end down from a scrap yard and do a replacement of the entire assembly. Your dad's call on the importance of a locker. If the housing is fine, then the easiest thing to do is replace the 3rd member with either a rebuild or one from a junk yard.

Removing the entire assembly is fairly easy, like you said... Ubolts, brake lines, and driveshaft get disconnected.

Thanks yeah, We're battling a C1239 "Metal on wheel speed sensor" and a malfunctioning ABS module. No other problems in the axles. We're not sure if the E-Locker will engage but.....4 Hi works fine thou....

the frame has already been replaced, and We got new shocks. The emergency brakes had to be cut due to the cables.

here is a picture of the rear axle.
