Questions about sound Deadening

I am replacing my stock stereo system with all new components and a sub. I have read a lot of posts that stress the importance of sound deadening in the doors to get better sound and stop unwanted vibrations. I have been researching products to use since Dynamat is expensive and over my budget. I read some posts on various sites about people using Grace Ice and Water Shield, some claim that is doesnt work well and gives off a tar smell, others say it works great and has no odor. I saw pictures of one guy who used Grace then went and covered it with thin aluminum insulation and claims it made a huge difference and performed better than dynamat. While I was at Menards today I found a product called tight seal self adhesive waterproof flashing, it is a butyl and asphalt based product with a thin layer of aluminum on the top and cost $20 for a 9" x 33' roll. This seems to be better that using Grace and covering it with Aluminum. The only downside I have found is that it is 27.5 mils thick where Dynamat is 40 mils so I plan on doubling it up. Has anyone ever used this? I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

Get a roll of raamat. I did my entire interior minus the roof with 2 layers. It's so nice and quite and the stereo sounds much better.
