Hi, folks! I have a couple of questions for the Ray10 owners out there.

1.) How are they holding up for you? Is the finish pretty durable? Is there any clear coating over the paint? I’m in central PA and worry about what the winter could do to them.

2.) I plan on running 16” Ray10s with 265-75-16 DuraTracs. I’ll be using OME 887 coils and want to keep my mudguards. How much of a beating will the side of my truck take with this setup? Do these wheels throw a lot more spray down the sides? I’d rather not get it it all chipped up.

Not positive but I think they have clear coat over the paint. I've only had them for a few weeks so I can't really comment on the durability yet. I'm running 16" Ray 10s with 285-75-16 KO2s, Bilstein 6112/5160, Dakar mediums, no mudguards. This is what the spray pattern looks like after playing in the mud for an hour or two. Not your exact setup but hopefully this helps answer your question!

The paint on the wheel is durable enough.

The center caps don't hold up, and the stainless steel bolts on my rim are rusted.

I live in Florida, never been off road and never been to the beach with the Ray10s. They just rusted from the Florida rains.

Did you just say that stainless steel bolts are rusted? Are you sure they are actually SS?

Thank you! I’ll be running a narrower tire and mudguards, so I think I’ll be ok. Your truck looks tough!! I love the access cabs. If I wasn’t still busy being a dad, that’s what I would’ve gone with.

It almost looks like the protective clear decal they put on for shipping was never removed. Could that be the case here?

That’s disappointing to hear that your bolts are rusting. Have any pics?

SCS vendor said they were stainless steel. Said it is rare but it has happened to a few people.

It was just curiosity. I grew up in Houston. Constant humidity does wonders on metal.

Like IrishRed mentioned, it looks like the clear film on the logo was never removed. This will trap moisture and overtime will cause it to rust from the backside. The backing is metal.

Try taking the bolts off and putting a little elbow grease into cleaning them. I'm pretty sure they will clean right off. It's more like surface rust which we've seen before, but a thorough cleaning will make them go away.

We do sell replacement logos if needed. Just be sure to peel the film off next time!

I removed the clear film from the center caps back in 2017. I looked on your website, I don't see where I can buy replacement logos.

I see. Very very minor. It generally takes a lot for SS to rust.

You can’t go wrong with SCS quality... I’ll say it does have a clear coat on it. I didn’t have any problems with the logo on the center cap, but I installed a vinyl overlay decal on it. 34F453DD-7D54-410B-A083-DFA5D15769F3.jpg

I got all hyped up on the rays and was let down big time. Always had balancing issues fresh from the box even tho I had changed the tires 2 times. They wouldn’t even balance on the machine with no tire mounted. I’ve leaned my lesson to just stay oem. Scs wheels are made in a third world country and I don’t believe the quality of the wheels are as good as they hype it up to be. Just my experience.

Had my Ray10’s since July of 2019 and they look as good as the day they came out of the box. No rust no chips no issues with balance or vibrations. I plan on selling these soon only because I wanna run 2020 pro wheels. I have no complaints with Ray 10’s and would buy them again probably bronze next time after I get tired of the pro wheels.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I bought my SCS Ray10s in 2017, no problems with them, they look great and any damage to them was caused by me. I definitely recommend SCS wheels.
