I have never installed aftermarket headlights before so I apologize for a newb question, but is it common for the headlights to make a humming sound when turned on? Just installed mine today and when standing there with the hood open it was quite obvious the led's were making a sound while the stocks were silent.

I think they have some kind of fan on them.

The High Power Headlight LEDs have a fan build into the bulb assembly. Most likely, that is the sound you hear.

To keep the LED components cool it has to have a fan built into the back of the bulb. This is the sound you are hearing.

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure it was normal and not a malfunction due to my lack of install skills! Lights seem to be working accordingly now - but the true test will come tonight once it is dark out.

How was the installation process? Did you have to do any modifying or just plug and play?

It's basically plug and play but it helps to take the top bolts out of your headlights so you can maneuver them forward a bit. The most difficult part to me was placing the adapter/base (not sure of the exact term) onto the bulbs. They come seperately but it's a very tight fit to get them on there and I was afraid initially that I wasn't lining it up properly - turns out I was, it just required a little more force than I had anticipated.

FYI - lights are in and are great! Definitely prefer them to the stocks in both color and coverage.

I had to adjust my headlamps up some to get optimal coverage on the ground.
