I would like to remove the suspension lift in my 2001 Tacoma V6 - 4X4. I want to go back to original specs.

I know people who have lifts swear by them but I want to go back to a stock height, never was in love with how it handled on turns with the lift.

Below is the current setup that I've had in my truck for ten years which is originally from Toyteclifts and has held up well. Just needed to replace the front shocks recently:

I'm kind of a newbie and I need some help. I don't have any of the original/stock hardware so I'd be starting from scratch in that respect. Please confirm if my list below is basically all that I need to do to remove this lift. Seems pretty straight forward but I just want to be sure I have everything I need before I begin. Is there a specific sequence/order I should go in to do this or does it not really matter?

    1. Remove the Eibach coils and replace them with front stock coils and make sure my bilstein 5100's are on the stock setting.

    2. Remove the front differential drop kit spacer and replace it with two stock length screws.

    3. Remove the rear brake proportioning bracket

    4. Take out the rear add a leafs

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would love an extensive list because in the parts list from the Toyteclifts invoice I see there are some bushings for the rear shocks. Can I reuse the ones that are already there? I will likely put in new rear shocks while I'm back there because its been ten years. But the rear shocks are adjustable so do I need to change their setting if I keep them?

    A couple questions,

Regarding the differential drop kit and returning the differential to stock settings: Can I reuse the hardware that is in place or will I need other hardware & What parts will I need??

Also regarding the rear brake proportioning bracket Can I reuse some the old hardware that is in place or will I need other parts What parts will I need??

    Thanks for your help!

Out of curiosity, what do you expect the difference in cornering to be at your current height vs stock height?

Does your truck still have the sway bar installed with the lift?

Rear shocks, 10 years = new shocks. They'll likely come with new bushings. Unless you have rebuildable shocks, they just take them off and have them rebuilt.

Front diff drop- it looks like they originally included x2 8mm x 40mm and a spacer to drop the skid plate, so I'd be expecting that you'd need two new short 8mm bolts. But length is tricky.. 1.5" = 38mm, so I think the spacers are probably only 1" / 25mm, which means you're looking for 8mm x 15mm which sounds about right.

I'm betting that the BPV bracket reused the original hardware to attach the plate to the diff- so you probably don't need anything there.

For the AAL removal though, you're going to need new U Bolts and new Centering pins, as they are NOT reusable items. The new ones you get will likely be too long, and you'll need to cut them to length. In the case of the center pin, you do that after you've installed the pin through the pack and tightened it down. The U bolts, you can do ahead of time, but keep a nut threaded on the part you don't cut off so you don't cross-thread the nut once you're installing them. You're looking for 2.5" u bolts, with 14mm or 9/16" thread.
