Planning out a lift + new wheels & tires project. Lots of questions.

So looking into a 2-3" lift for my 3rd Gen Tacoma Off-road (currently all stock).

Thinking the following for wheels & tires:
    • Wheels:17x9 3.50" BS 6x139.7
    • Tires: 35" wide BF K02
    Questions:
    1. Besides the wheel size (17") and the bolt pattern, is there anything else I should be aware of that would affect the fitting of the two?
    2. Does a offset (negative or positive) affect much other than looks? i.e. by selecting a -38mm offset would that require an extra components to properly fit?
    3. How do yo determine how much of the tire would protrude away from the body of the truck?
      1. I'm seeing 35" inch tires on 3rd gen. tacomas looking nicely but would like to know how to calculate
    4. Would 35" tire require any work on the truck to prevent rubbing or other undesired interactions?

Thank you in advance for your time.
