Howdy, I've noticed that a lot of the city trucks as well as the state troopers around have quick a quick connect socket for easy access to jumper cables. Does anyone on here have one, or any experience? I think wiring one up for the front and rear would make it really handy to help out buddies and stranded randoms.

Don't know if I just like the novelty or how much it would really come in handy but I thought I would see what you guys think.

I know some have them for their winch connections for the front and rear. But if your driving your vehicle everyday you shouldn't have to jump someone that often. IF you are though, you can buy a battery pack, that you keep charged in the truck for times where it isn't possible to boost them in a traditional manner.

Did this with my GF's old car, just used the battery pack to boost her, instead of fussing with cables. Used something like this

I don't know how often your jumping cars though

I have used them on tow trucks for years, nice at the time, but now everyone just uses jump boxes, portable, convenient.

I have one on my work truck, went to use it one day and it didn't have a good connection so I just propped the hood and did it the old fashioned way. Its kind of neat but just difficult keeping the connector away from the elements.

Is it the same connection for the winch? I was curious, I am drawing up plans to have a hitch mounted winch and the cables would be neat to have if they drew off of the same plug.
