Quick connect challenges w/ fuel tank vent hose 2.7 liter

    I hope everyone's day is going well.

    I am having trouble reinstalling a quick connect fuel tank vent hose.

    It may be on fully but it is tough to tell.

    Wondering if anyone knows if a special tool is needed for this?

    It looks close but looks like it could go a bit more however it won't.

    Should have gotten pictures.

    The pliers with nuts taped on them didn't work, was too awkward and had little power to press thing together.

    One source said remove the O ring but it seems important.

    Thanks for any guidance.

    Predator tube steps, Ranch Hand grill guard, Magnaflow CatBack exhaust, Toyota tool box & bed mat, 2LO Module by @Up2NoGood, Rearview Compass/Temp Mirror, Tune by @JustDSM.
    Smear a bit of vassoline or grease on the fitting where the O-Ring slides and it will go right on.

    It worked!

    The truck started up and runs great. Thanks for all your help DM 93! It made a huge difference.
