Just test drove a TRD and checking the vehicle out after. I found a fair amount of oil on the skid plate. Is this normal? I noticed that the oil filter drain hole is kinda above the skid plate. Just trying to see if this is a negative or OK thing?

Pull the dipstick, see how that looks. It might be an issue or it could just be a lazy oil change.

Dipstick looked OK. The oil also looked fresh.

Had the same thing happen to me after an oil change. Turned out to be excess oil from the filter spilled on the skid plate. Had them drop the plate, clean it up and perform another change. Lazy change like Shay mentions above.

Perhaps the oil and filter was just changed?

The stealership has had the truck on the lot for 49 days. Fairly recent oil change.

Is it a certified truck with a warranty? If it is tell them to clean it and rechange the oil. If it isn't don't buy it without an independent look.

Thanks for your responses. I ended up walking away from the truck. Even though the truck was super clean, they just wouldn't budge from their "Internet" price of $21k. I also didn't get the "I must have this truck" feeling, which I am super bummed about.
