Hey guys, picked up my 12 TRD Sport on 1/02. The truck is certified used. Should I have been given any information regarding the warranty when it was delivered? (They delivered it to me and took back my trade) In all the excitement I forgot to ask about anything but I don't think I have any paperwork on the warranty. Is all this just registered with Toyota since I bought it at a dealership?

I would call the dealership. Donde Esta mi warranty?

Maybe a little off topic, but I'll throw in a word about so called "certified" cars/trucks.
Little if any of the points on the check list were ever done on the countless "certified" vehicles I've seen. Go over your new ride and check things out. Fluid levels/condition - belts/hoses/etc.

In a lot of cases the dealer does nothing more than clean up the vehicle and detail the engine bay.

That's not true. there are certain criteria the vehicle needs to meet in order to be certified. i recondition these vehicles day in and day out and can tell you at least at my dealer, we spend the money to make sure it's in good shape.
Brakes and tires gets replaced if they are at/or below 7/32. Certification is just requires them to be at 50% which typically is 6/32.

An owner can raise hell with Toyota if something on the cert list is off and the dealer just "let it go". The dealer would be in a world of hurt...not worth the risk.

A few days ago, I purchased a 2011 Tacoma with a Certified Warranty, and the finance person provided a 20 page booklet titled "Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Warranty Supplement" with vehicle, owner, dealership and warranty duration stated. Perhaps contact your finance person - it might help.

Thanks guys, I didn't get a booklet or pamplet. I'll call them Monday. Didn't finance through them so I'll just ask to talk to the manager.

It is indeed true of many Toyota's I've seen that were supposedly put through certification.

You work in but one dealership. You have no way of knowing that every other dealership is doing what you say yours is doing. The dealer will get off scot free if caught.
They'll simply make it right or wiggle their way out of it.

"Mr xxxxx. It wasn't in that condition when it left our dealership. You must have had it serviced incorrectly elsewhere".

Congratulations to you and your dealership for doing the right thing.

It's hard to take a dealer at his word on a new vehicle let alone a used.
