quick question about "drop in filter"

    alright maybe ill just pry the rivets off without taking the intake off haha im sure i can get it

    alright i popped it out, just broke the rivets and nothing was left inside the intake to fall in there, it was pretty easy i just got one then pulled it off

    I keep reading that the secondary filter is riveted in. What's the point in having a filter that can't be changed? Seems like the it would block the air flow more and more as the truck ages.

    yeah i just removed mine today, just got a screw driver under it and popped it out, broke the rivets but im not going to be putting another 2nd filter in so it doesnt matter

    It isn't supposed to be changed. It's a charcoal emissions filter and it's held in with plastic rivets.

    its just an emissions thing man. it catches unused gass fumes and suck when the motor is shut off. i took mine out shortly after i got the truck......idled better, and a bit more responsive, imo.

    take a sharp wood chisel and just shave the little plastic rivet looking bumps down to the filter and pry it off took like 1 minute to get mine off make sure you get all the little shavings oot of the filter area
